During his extensive career, he has served effectively as President and CEO of The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor for Economic and Workforce Development at the University of West Alabama, and Senior Associate with Partners for Livable Communities in Washington, D.C., a firm dedicated to building livable communities. In addition, he is a certified professional leadership coach.
He is a graduate of Auburn University, Notre Dame’s Institute or Organization Management, and the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina. An award-winning professional, he has served as President of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce Executives, Chairman of the Alabama Association of Nonprofits, and was named the 2002 Alabama Chamber Professional of the Year.
Known as an organization entrepreneur, he has led in the creation of over 20 nonprofit organizations to meet specific identified needs and has led by example through civic and professional service organizations. He is the founder and charter graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa, a graduate of Leadership Alabama, a 25-member of the board of directors of the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, and a leader in numerous other civic and service organizations at the local, state and regional levels.
